Positive Discipline
(Developed by Fredric Jones) |
| Positive Discipline is based on mutual respect. If a student
chooses to misbehave, the teacher uses proximity as a first attempt
to get the student back on task. The conversation between the
student and teacher is private. If the student consistently chooses
inappropriate behavior, the teacher goes to a Backup System. If you
would like more information please speak with your child’s teacher
or the principal. |
|
Second Step (Developed by The
Committee for Children) |
| Students are taught to reduce impulsive and aggressive behavior, which
increases their level of social competence. The program accomplishes this
by teaching skills in empathy, impulse control, and anger management. The
students learn through modeling, practice, and reinforcement. |

room.
-
