Discipline

The Spring Valley Faculty/Staff are committed to high expectations for all students. Every effort will be made to teach and model acceptable school behavior and to develop appropriate self-discipline in all students. Our school discipline plan is a combination of the following:

Lifelong Guidelines & Lifeskills (Developed by Susan Kovalik)

The Lifeskills and the Lifelong Guidelines are what some schools would refer to as "school rules". The students review the Lifelong Guidelines at the beginning of each school day. The Lifelong Guidelines and Lifeskills are used throughout the school, in the lunchroom, and on the playground. Each week one of the Lifeskills is designated as the "Lifeskill of the Week". During the morning announcements the Lifeskill selected is announced and explained. However, teachers may choose to teach the Lifeskills in a sequence that best integrates into their curriculum.
